- Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred with specialty certification in Critical Care. Licensed as RN in the State of North Carolina.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in Critical Care. Previous teaching experience in a formalized educational setting helpful. Knowledge of adult-learning principles and planning educational activities.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI), BLS required on hire and advanced certifications may be obtained within 6 months and willing to obtain instructor certification.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal/communication/teaching skills. Familiar with course/ orientation development preferred
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Assists nursing/clinical staff, primarily in Critical Care, in identifying their learning needs and planning activities to meet their needs
- Utilizes the consultation process to facilitate and enhance achievement of individual departmental/organizational goals
- Designs educational offerings and learning experiences that incorporate adult learning principles
- Coordinate the orientation education and training for the Critical Care Staff.
- Assist with core competencies upon hire and annual recertification to include acquisition of new skills based on new services.
- Obtain and maintain BLS Certification and Instructor Certification
- Obtain and maintain PALS Certification and Instructor Certification
- Obtain and maintain ACLS Certification and Instructor Certification
- Obtain and maintain NCI and Instructor Certification
