Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Nuclear Med Tech to join our busy Nuclear Medicine department in Albany, NY. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team performing general Nuclear Medicine scans and cardiac scans.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures including general Nuclear Medicine scans and cardiac scans according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Operate Siemens cameras and EPIC systems to acquire, process, and analyze imaging data.
- Prepare patients for Nuclear Medicine procedures by explaining the process, ensuring patient comfort, and obtaining necessary medical history.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients as directed by the supervising physician.
- Monitor patients during procedures for any adverse reactions and respond appropriately to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to review imaging results and assist in interpretation when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging data, patient information, and procedural details.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols related to Nuclear Medicine procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide patient education and support, addressing any questions or concerns related to Nuclear Medicine procedures.
Discipline:Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Certifications/License Required:
- ARRT Nuclear Medicine or CNMT certification
- NYS Nuclear Medicine license
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nuclear Med Tech in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in operating Siemens cameras and EPIC systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of Nuclear Medicine procedures and imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Current ARRT Nuclear Medicine or CNMT certification and NYS Nuclear Medicine license.
