For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. JOB SUMMARY
Performs Nuclear Medicine diagnostic procedures in the hospital in accordance with all state and NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) regulations, and utilizing an understanding of principles of growth and development to provide the physician with diagnostic images to identify and/or plan appropriate treatment of the patient’s condition. Maintains and operates cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images. Positions patients. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear radiologic studies in adherence to professional and department protocols.  

 

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.


Experience: 1-2 years Nuclear Tech and PET CT preferred

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

  • Certified Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board CNMT (NMTCB)  or R.T.(N)(ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
