Job description

About United Theranostics:

United Theranostics is a national private practice dedicated to addressing the current major challenge of meaningful access to radiopharmaceutical therapy and advanced molecular imaging in community practice. The term “Theranostics” is derived from a combination of the terms therapy and diagnostics. This high-tech approach to cancer allows us to both find the cancer cells and then use the same or similar molecules to eliminate them. We use PET/CT scans to visualize the tumors, along with SPECT/CT scans to dynamically monitor the effect of therapy, and radiopharmaceuticals to treat cancer. Our mission is to make molecular imaging and radiopharmaceutical therapy accessible to all patients in a comfortable environment with the highest quality of care.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at our new practice location in Princeton, New Jersey. Located on the outskirts of the Princeton campus, this clinic site will support both clinical care and research initiatives through the in vivo diagnostic use of radiopharmaceuticals to evaluate disease and the treatment of disease with radiopharmaceutical therapy.

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will primarily provide imaging for Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT studies, develop and implement new Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT procedures; and participate in research initiatives designed to identify promising radiopharmaceutical therapies, and perform analysis of imaging data to aid in a more patient-centric delivery of care.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform high-quality SPECT/CT, PET/CT, and diagnostic CT images studies.
  • Establish intravenous placement of catheters for infusion of IV solutions, medications, and radiopharmaceutical compounds.

  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Report any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain safe radiation practices and complete all documentation as mandated by department, organization, or regulatory body in relation to the use of radioactive materials.\ Maintain documentation regarding receipt of radiopharmaceuticals, dosage, quality control, radioactive source storage, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals/ radioactive materials.
  • Obtain blood and urine specimens for the performance and computation of invitro tests.
  • Prepare patients, obtain patient history, and perform Nuclear Medicine exams.
  • Operate Nuclear Medicine and other departmental equipment and performs quality control and preventive maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis. Contacts outside service for significant malfunctions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
  • Participate in supply/equipment maintenance, clinical research projects, and educational programs and affiliations.
  • Participate in research to include IRB data submissions, administering research isotopes, and performing imaging for dosimetry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About Our Team:

We strive to build a close-knit and collaborative environment, both clinically and through our administrative support teams.  Our environment encourages open communication, shared ideas, and a strong sense of camaraderie among team members.  Our setting allows for agility and innovation and is different than traditional bureaucratic environments.  If you are willing to wear many hats and want to directly impact our clinic’s ability to provide personalized and patient-centric care, join our team.

What You’ll Need to Get the Job Done:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in Nuclear Medicine processes and procedures, to include PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging required.
