Position Summary
HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking an Exercise Developer/Software Subject Matter Expert to support the National Security Space Institute (NSSI).
The NSSI Space Power Lab Exercise Developer and Support position leverages experience gained from a space operations background in joint and combined operations to design and develop exercise scenarios. Collaborates with all levels of staff subject matter experts and other applicable stakeholders to create and define multidisciplinary models and simulations incorporating tactical, operational, and strategic levels of warfare that reinforce requisite learning objectives and enable students to apply their knowledge to scenarios that reflect real-world activities and events.
Our ideal candidate is familiar with Microsoft Office applications and aids with the administration of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Windows 2012 Servers Windows XP and 7 client PCs, Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS)/Dynamic Host Configuration and Protocol (DHCP).
Essential Job Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and administer computer-based exercise scenarios that support educational objectives at the NSSI.
• Maintain familiarization with current Joint Operations Centers, Air Operations Centers, Tactical Operations Centers, and other Command Centers organizational structure and responsibilities for accurate depiction in exercise scenarios.
• Conduct research to identify significant changes across the global space enterprise and incorporate relevant changes into the curriculum to ensure currency of delivered material.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on space software applications used at NSSI. Operate and maintain Space Professional software suites and applications installed on the Space Power Lab network in a classified, closed environment and be able to train staff/students on use and utility of each software application. Develop and maintain reference material for Space Professional software being used at the NSSI.
• Coordinate with Space Power Lab (SPL) Engineer and Systems Administrator on obtaining, testing, and installation of latest space software applications versions.
• Assist the SPL Engineer and Systems Administrator in the maintenance and sustainment of the SPL network, classrooms, and workspaces as required.
• This position may include occasional travel requirements including overseas travel.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience with an Associates degree in a related field.
• Previous military active-duty and/or federal government civil-servant experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows systems and Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
• CompTIA Security+ Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Clearance: Must have an active SECRET security clearance. #LI-LD1

Preferred Qualifications

• Active-duty military background which includes experience in Joint/Combined Space Operations environments providing space support and integration (Army Space Support Team, Air Force Space Operations Center, or other space support organization).
• Familiarity with Space Professional/Air and Space Operations Center baseline software such as: Global Command and Control System (GCCS), Integrated Space Situational Awareness (ISSA), Processing and Display Subsystem-Migration (PDS-M), GPS Interference and Navigation Tool (GIANT), Systems Tool Kit (STK).
• Familiarity with exercise development tools and simulation software such as Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF), Automated Scriptor Simulator Exercise Trainer (ASSET), etc.
• Experience briefing, educating and/or interacting with and supporting DoD personnel.
