Basic Job Functions:
The role of a Traffic Facilitator consists of, but is not limited to, coordinating shipments with customers, truck carriers, railroads, and barge lines, working with Sales, Production, Quality, and Material Handling teams to maximize on-time delivery, recruiting new carriers while ensuring they meet Nucor’s partnership standards, resolving claims, participating in freight rate negotiations, analyzing carrier performance, and other responsibilities as necessary. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Computer skills including Email, Excel, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems
- Associates Degree in Logistics or equivalent work experience
- Experience with railroad, barge and/or truck operations and/or logistics
- Familiarity with material handling operations
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
