Summary:
The NP/PA functions collaboratively with physicians in the Pediatric Critical Care Department and other Consultants. The NP/PA autonomously performs patient assessments, diagnosis and implements an appropriate plan of care. The NP/PA prescribes a variety of treatment modalities to meet patient care needs in the defined patient population up to and including PICU admissions/discharges and prescriptive authority. The NP/PA delivers competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs. Care is based on the nursing process and the medical plan of treatment. The NP/PA will deliver care with a team orientation, an emphasis on good customer relations, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice.
Education:
Advanced Practice Registered NursesGraduate of an approved accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program; Masters of Science in Nursing required. Minimum two years of Pediatric Critical Care Nursing strongly preferred. / OR/ Physician AssistantsMasters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.Minimum two years of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.
