Summary:
The Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in the hospital setting. The NP/PA is responsible for the assessment, participation in the development of the plan of care, diagnosis and intervention of the assigned hospitalized patient(s) according to approved protocols. The NP/PA prescribes a variety of modalities to meet patient needs, up to and including continued hospital admission or discharge and prescriptive authority. Collaborates with the assigned team members to support and adjust plan of care and length of stay for patient care needs.
Education & Experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
• Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
Physician Assistants
• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Current Texas professional registered nurse license
Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
Certified as a PNP or FNP
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
Physician Assistants
Current Texas professional physician assistant license
Certified as a PA-C
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
