Summary
Manage all the activities of Import/Export Transportation in alignment to the local and global trade compliance regulations and laws.
Define, execute, and maintain the Import/Export and Transportation strategy, working close with Proposals & Estimating, Purchasing and Global Import/Export Transportation team to meet Company needs successful project execution.
Duties and Responsibilities

Main areas of responsibilities are:
- Ensure all transactions in compliance with the regional/local regulations
- Support the Process Owner to maintain an efficient Import/Export and Transportation process assuring common standards and practices are followed for creating, documenting, executing, and reconciling of Import/Export and domestic transactions.
- Manage the Transportation Department budget
- Support the Process Owner to maintain efficient and effective policies/processes assuring common standards and practices are followed to assure trade compliance consistent with regional/local regulations.
- Function strategically within proposals, budgets, and project executions to consult and support the programs on their Import/Export needs
- Ensure timely and accurate billing process, working with Purchasing, Finance, and Project Management Team
- Benchmark service providers for cost and performance with Purchasing support
- Review and implement services agreements with carriers, external warehouses (if needed), freight forwarders, and customs brokers
- Establish and/or monitor specific supply chain-based performance KPI
- Evaluate transportation insurance needs
- Support and develop comprehensive awareness training pertaining to I/E protocols
- Recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs in support of the transportation strategy developed by the logistics department
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of the following agencies: BIS, OFAC, Denied Screening, EAR
- Material classification: HTS and ECCN
- Support the team day to day operations
- High level knowledgeof theborder crossing process with Canada and Mexico
- Consideration of relative costs along with benefits/liabilities of potential actions and ability to recommend accordingly
- Must have complete working knowledge of all relevant Import rules, Customs Regulations, Export rules & documentation, material classification, required procedures, Incoterms, Customs Rulings, etc.

Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience
- Previous experience:
- A minimum of five to ten years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in an automotive or similar sector environment.
- Experience relating directly with government agencies (domestic and foreign), customers and logistical support entities.
- Languages:
- English: advanced, Spanish a plus
