Job Title: Non-Profit Retail Store Coordinator
Function: Miriam Switching Post
Reports To: Store Manager
Classification: part time for 24 hours per week (rotating schedule on Thursday evenings), non-exempt, hourly
Job Summary
Miriam Switching Post is seeking an experienced Floor Coordinator who is willing to work hard and grow with the organization. The Floor Coordinator will report directly to the Switching Post Manager and will be responsible for taking on a variety of tasks involved in the overall operation of the store. The successful candidate will be the key-holder/person in charge on days the Manager and Assistant Manager are not present, and assure proper and timely opening and closing of Miriam Switching Post, including close out of the register.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for floor management, customer service and answering phone
- Work closely with volunteers and staff to get new furniture and other items onto the sales floor and arranged in a pleasing, marketing-first manner
- Assist with donor management including screening donation pick-up request phone calls
- Ensure that each customer and donor receives outstanding customer service, including greeting and acknowledging customers and donors
- Key holder, assure proper opening & closing of store as needed
- Cash management, close out of register/books end of day as needed
- Maintain positive relations with volunteers, staff, customers and donors in a friendly environment
- Other duties as agreed upon with Manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in retail/resale operations preferred but not required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of antiques and high-end merchandise a plus
- Available days with a rotating schedule to include weekends and some evenings as job duties demand
