Non-Licensed Vet Tech

Total Veterinary Care in Kennesaw is looking for a Full-Time EXPERIENCED veterinary assistant or non-licensed tech to join our team in a fast-paced, busy day practice with extended URGENT CARE hours. Monday-Friday shifts only.

Our ideal candidate is a positive self-starter who is motivated to learn and engage with their team and clients and has some experience working in urgent care or emergency settings.

HIRING RANGE: starting at $16-18/hr, plus pay insensitive for urgent care hours (6-10 pm), commensurate with experience.

FULL-TIME BENEFITS (beginning at 30 hours per week): Include personal time, vacation time, accrued sick time, health Insurances, uniform allowance, Veterinary benefits, retirement plan (with company match), quarterly bonus, etc.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least 12 months of full-time experience (or equivalent) as a veterinary assistant and has the ability to demonstrate proper restraining techniques, in-house laboratory skills, catheter placement, blood draws, surgical assisting, nursing/ICU care, ability to accurately fill prescriptions
• Has a solid understanding of preventative medications, medical terminology and calculations, and a passion for client education
• Takes initiative by preparing for each days appointments, taking phone calls, setting appointments, taking medical history of patients, assisting veterinarians in surgery, physical exams, and diagnostic workups
• Can demonstrate efficient organization and has the ability to pay attention to multiple details by taking initiative and staying motivated to provide excellent service to our clients
• Wants to learn new skills and is focused on using them to advance their careers for the betterment of themselves, their team, and the clients and patients we serve
• Has a positive attitude and is an effective and respectful team player
