Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C. (CBM), an accounting and business advisory firm that serves clients throughout the Greater Washington Metropolitan area and the Mid-Atlantic region, is currently seeking a dedicated nonprofit tax professional. The position is available for a Manager with potential fast track to Partner.

Essential Functions
Advise nonprofit CFO's, executive directors, and Treasurers on tax matters, including unrelated business income tax, lobbying, proxy taxes, and best practices for board governance.
Review nonprofit tax filings such as Form 990, 990-T and related state filings, 1120-POL, 990-PF.
Review public support test analysis.
Communicate tax development to the firm related to nonprofit organizations.
Perform complex tax research and review the research projects of others.
Serve as a resource for nonprofit team members related to tax matters.
Assist with recruitment and training of other tax department personnel.
Develop an entrepreneurial approach to client service and develop good working relationships with client personnel.
Maintain contacts with peers, develop a network of business contacts, meet with prospective clients, and cultivate referrals.
Write articles and make presentations on current nonprofit tax related topics.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related program.
Advanced degree (generally law or master's in taxation) is preferred.
CPA Certification.
At least six years of recent public accounting experience.
Proficiency in use of CCH products such as Access Tax, Document and Engagement is a plus.
