Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to join our team. As an NEMT Driver, you will be responsible for transporting individuals to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a strong commitment to punctuality, and a focus on providing a supportive and caring experience for passengers.
Responsibilities:
1. Safe Transportation:
- Operate a non-emergency medical vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring the well-being of passengers during transit.
- Follow all traffic laws and company transportation protocols.
2. Passenger Assistance:
- Provide courteous and respectful assistance to passengers, including helping them in and out of the vehicle as needed.
- Ensure passengers with mobility challenges are safely secured in the vehicle.
3. Schedule Adherence:
- Adhere to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times to ensure timely transportation for passengers.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to update on-route status and any potential delays.
4. **Vehicle Maintenance:**
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the NEMT vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues promptly and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs.
5. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including passenger information, pick-up and drop-off times, and any special instructions.
- Complete required documentation for billing and reporting purposes.
6. Customer Service:
- Provide a high level of customer service, addressing passenger needs and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Foster a positive and comfortable atmosphere during transportation.
7. Confidentiality:
- Respect and maintain the confidentiality of passengers' medical information and personal details.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
3. Previous experience in transportation, customer service, or a related field.
4. Ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
5. Compassionate and patient demeanor, particularly when dealing with passengers facing health challenges.
6. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to perform minor troubleshooting.
7. Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:*
1. First Aid and CPR certification.
2. Experience in non-emergency Medical Transportation services.
3. Knowledge of local roads and geography.
