Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver (La Grande, Or Area)

We need a driver who lives in or within 10 miles of La Grande, OR area to transport our clients to and from their medical appointments.

This is an hourly position, eligible for overtime. Average hours are between 30-40 hours a week.

For new drivers, we provide all training, screening fees, and transportation equipment. Our drivers work from home - we supply the company vehicle, driver schedule, and the gas!

Drivers may drive up to 10 hours a day, long distance to various outlying cities - including Hermiston, OR, Walla Walla, WA, Kennewick, WA, Ontario, OR and Boise, ID. We try to have you home in time for dinner!

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Clean driving record or at least no more than 1 moving violation in last 5 years. No criminal convictions within the last 10 years.

At least 8 years driving experience, with a valid driver's license.

Able to pass county, state, nationwide criminal background check.

Able to pass a 10-panel drug test and alcohol breathalyzer test.

At least 6-months of customer service experience.

We have been in business for over 20 years and have fantastic drivers who cater to medical clients all over Oregon, Washington and Idaho. We are a small, family-owned business that prides ourselves on providing quality, reliable transportation to clients – getting them to and from their medical appointments.

JOB DUTIES/SKILLS

• Perform a daily inspection of company vehicle
• Keep vehicle clean and take vehicles to proper shops for required maintenance - i.e. tire rotations, oil changes etc.
• Knowledgeable with Google Maps, operate Android tablet to manage rides.
• Assist wheelchair clients - pushing them up wheelchair ramp, properly loading and securing them into the van.
• Able to drive in inclement weather if necessary - rain, snow, sleet etc.
• Operate smartphone to check company email and communicate with clients and dispatchers.
• Drive in a safe manner, utilizing defensive driving training, to take clients to their appointments on time.

OTHERPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Possess previous customer service experience with a good track record of assisting customers in a thoughtful, caring, and timely manner.

Have a great work history with a track record of being a reliable responsible individual.

Previously certified in Basic Adult & Child First Aid & CPR and Defensive Driving, preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
