Non-destructive (NDT) Testing Trainee

Full-time position in the Wood River, IL area. The NDT Trainee will assist NDT Technicians in performing non-destructive Testing of materials while training to become a Certified Technician.

Duties:

• Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment under the supervision of the Certified Technician;
• Assist NDT Technicians in testing to ensure quality non-destructive Testing Methods;
• Assist Radiographers in performing X-Rays of Piping and Equipment;
• Become familiar with required codes and procedures to carry out testing;
• Record results of inspections;
• Attend Radiation Safety Classes;
• Attend training classes required to obtain certification;
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.

Experience:

• No experience required – IRISNDT will provide classroom and on-the-job training;
• Knowledge of NDT and/or welding technologies will be considered an asset.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent;
• Valid Driver’s License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required; and
• Pre-employment background checks will be required.
• Physical Requirements:
• Move, carry, and lift objects 50 lbs. or more;
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and climb;
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
