BASIC REQUIREMENTS
AGE: 17-34; age waiver possible up to 39
High school junior & Senior on track to graduate, high school diploma, GED, or some college.
Must be a US Citizen, Permanent Residence or approved for I-551

Meet Army medical standards (No current Asthma)

OVERVIEW
This job requires military service with a contract for enlistment or commission. This is not an application to a specific position within the military. This job is only an example of a position that you could be placed in after taking the job placement exam. You will choose your job based on your job placement score.
Enlistment entails that you speak to a recruiter (925-596-1174) take a job placement exam, complete a physical exam, choose from the career options that you qualify from, sign a career contract, take the oath of enlistment, and attend basic training.
Monthly Drill: Part-time Soldier enlisting into the California Army National Guard means that you will become a member of a unit in your local area. So, traveling to and from your unit will not be a hassle. Your commitment will be to attend training at your unit only one weekend a month and two weeks out of the year (Usually during summer as to not interfere with college courses). You will also be given government stamped documentation every time you attend training to provide to your employer to excuse you from work without you ever having to use sick time or vacation time.
Active Duty: full-time opportunities include Active Guard Reserve, State Active Duty, Emergency State Active Duty.
TRAINING
Job training requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and depending on the job of choice is how long the Job Training will be. Each job training is different. The Army is one of the only branches that allows YOU TO CHOOSE YOUR JOB!!
COLLEGE
The California Army National Guard has full tuition scholarships, state grants, federal tuition assistance, the Montgomery gi bill, and student loan repayment program. These benefits can fully fund your College Degree (AA- Masters) of choice and pay off any student debt Loans accrued.
COMPENSATION
Total compensation includes monthly dill (one weekend each month) annual training (two weeks in the summer) AGR (active guard reserve) ESAD (emergency state active-duty SAD (state active duty).

WORK FOR WARRIORS PROGRAM
Those interested in this job may be eligible for civilian employment, while serving in the National Guard through our Work for Warriors program that assist servicemembers and their families with careers inside and outside the military.
