Job Overview:
This position will work in the Vexus Network Operations Center, they will be responsible for 24x7 monitoring of the Vexus enterprise assets (both internally and externally) and infrastructure. This elevated role will serve as a Tier 2+ to facilitate incident resolution.
The NOC Tier 2 manages incident escalation and resolution of high impact/high urgency critical events. The NOC Tier 2 will provide front-to-end engineering and installation of router-based IP solutions. The NOC Tier 2 role will also be working in collaboration with internal/external high functioning groups for developing and implementing new solutions/technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
- Provide Tier 2 escalation support in the Vexus Network Operations Center for high visibility/high impact incidents.
- Provide and assist/support the project planning team with design, writing and execution of various test plans and implementation of proposals.
- Maintaining and proposing enhancements to existing customer networks
- Occasional overnight maintenance and call outs
- Network diagrams and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNA/CCNP
- Experience Multiple Switch vendors
- Some programing language in C, python, java or pearl
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma, Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree, preferred.
- Required: Monitor and Manage Systems, Verbal/Written Communication, Time Management, Critical Investigation/Thinking.
- Required: Fluency in data networking protocols. Knowledge of Ethernet, MPLS, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPN and IP Telephony.
