Noc Network Engineer Ii

The NOC Network Engineer will have experience with analyzing network and computer communications hardware characteristics, removals, and modifications. This role will be responsible for the initial triage, troubleshooting and as required escalation of customer IT infrastructure incidents.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
• Responsible for the initial triage, troubleshooting, and required escalation of customer IT infrastructure incidents.
• Take ownership of issues, promptly responding to alarms, alerts and customer raised issues
• Document all issues within the incident ticketing system
• Provide outstanding, clear, consistent and regular communication, with internal and external customers
• Work with resources to resolve all Tier 1 issues
• Identify and escalate any issues that can't be resolved by Tier 1 resources
• Maintain familiarity with all services offered and clients supported
• Ensure documentation is maintained and updated
• Other duties as assigned and based on the needs of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5+ years demonstrated engineer experience with proven track record.
• Commitment to customer service excellence
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Self-starter who takes initiative, is open minded and is a team player
• CCNP R&S certification is required.
• Experienced with Cisco ISR Series Routers and Cisco Catalyst Series Switches.
• Experienced with Meraki hardware, software, security, & SD-WAN.
• Experienced with Interior Gateway Routing Protocols (IGPs) such as: OSPF and EIGRP.
• Experienced with VXLAN (both Cisco and non-Cisco, i.e. OpenStack & NSX) is desired. VXLAN OTP & VXLAN EVPN
• Experienced with VPC and VSS in a Cisco Nexus and Catalyst context is required. Note - VPC is more important than VSS for this requirement.
• Cisco ASA experience is required.
• Experience with Cisco Enterprise Wireless (including authentication mechanisms such as dot1x, ISE + dot1x, & EAP-chaining, plus experience with Cisco WLC - both virtual and physical with and without FlexConnect) is required.
• Experience with Cisco and HP firmware management is required.
• Significant experience with switching: VLAN creation, VLAN trunking (including VTP), Spanning Tree, EtherChannel (PaGP and LACP), troubleshooting layer-2 issues, global switch configuration, management protocols, etc.
• Experienced with WAN technologies such as SD-WAN, MPLS, VPLS and iWAN (DMVPN).
• Experienced with Cisco Nexus platforms is strongly desired.
• Experience with Enterprise QoS is strongly desired.
• Experienced with BGP: configuring peering relationships, troubleshooting BGP issues and understanding BGP path selection. VXLAN with BGP EVPN is desired in a BGP context.
• Experienced with HP switches (chassis based) is strongly desired.
• Experienced with site-to-site VPNs is required. Creating, troubleshooting, and understanding IKEv1, IKEv2, and associated VPN routing plus NAT over VPN.
• Storage networking experience is desired (iSCSI connectivity, etc.)
• Cisco FTD (firepower) is desired.
• Next-generation network design experience is desired (such as SDN, SD-WAN, SDDC, SD-AS, etc.)
• Experience with Cisco ACS is desired.
• Experience with Cisco ISE is desired.
• Experience with security as it relates to router and switch hardening, correct use of data-in-transit traffic encryption technologies, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), KMS (Key Management Services), proper use of keyrings and general knowledge of defense-in-depth protection strategies.
• Experience with operating network management tools and understanding network reporting.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS Engineering, Computer Science, or Math); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
