Night Sleep Technician

JOB OVERVIEW: The Night Sleep Technician is responsible for administering sleep studies according to internal practice policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information.
• Determine testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
• Review the patient’s history, verify patient’s identification, collect documents, and obtain consent for the study, and verify the medical order.
• Follow sleep center protocols related to the sleep study.
• Explain the procedure and orient the patient for either in center or home sleep apnea testing.
• Provide age appropriate patient education.
• Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing to determine proper functioning, making necessary adjustments.
• Apply electrodes and sensors according to standards.
• Perform PAP interface fitting and physiological calibrations.
• Document observations.
• Implement appropriate interventions.
• Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events.
• Generate reports.
• Conduct patient education and instruction.
• Maintain laws, regulations, guidelines and standards for safety and infection control.
• Perform equipment care maintenance on a regular basis.
• Assist staff in all aspects of sleep center operations.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy policies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• RPSGT certification required
• Team oriented

• Ability to follow direction
• High level of social adaptability
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds as needed
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

SCHEDULE:

12-hour sifts, 7:00 pm. - 7:00 a.m. 3 nights be week

COMPENSATION:

Job Type: Full-time
