California Correctional Health Care Services and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation are seeking dedicated and compassionate psychiatrists to join our statewide Telepsychiatry team to provide night and weekend coverage. Coverage will reflect hours between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. for 3 days per week (may or may not be consecutive), including either Saturday or Sunday. This is an active, all-night position, which includes telepsychiatric patient evaluations in addition to addressing routine telephonic calls throughout the evening. Daytime employment between Night Shifts is not compatible with this position. Daytime onboarding will also be required, as will occasional, mandatory trainings during weekdays. Daytime employment outside of this position may not be compatible and will require prior approval. Please inquire for any questions related to outside employment.
This team provides psychiatric services to patients within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's 35 adult correctional institutions. In one of our three telepsychiatry locations, you'll see and develop treatment plans for cases you won't encounter in any other practice; and utilize some of the most advanced technologies available - all within a clean, quiet, and comfortable atmosphere.

Special Requirements
Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
