Night Shift - Heat Treat Furnace Operator

Elm is a family-owned and operated business with a welcoming, safe, and employee-oriented environment. We are a high production metal finisher providing Zinc barrel plating, Heat Treating, dip spin coating, sorting/packaging, and anodizing services

• Heat Treat Furnace Operatorsare on 12hr rotating shifts where team members work 3 days one week, 4 days the next, and enjoy a 3-day weekend off every other week! 
• They receive 40 hours straight pay + 2 hours OT for either week.

Primary Function:

• Responsible for operating furnace lines per work instructions.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operates Heat Treat furnace lines.
2. Verifies and signs appropriate area of job router.

1. Verifies furnace and generators parameters every 2 hours. 
2. Loads furnace per production schedule.
3. Controls furnace carbon potential & temperature per production schedule.
4. Stage product per production schedule.
5. Keeps pre-staging area organized.
6. Operates forklift.
7. Reviews and verifies job routers match product before processing.

1. Required to comply with all work, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
2. May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.  Must be able to maintain forklift license.  Position requires constant bending, twisting, pulling and climbing on and off the forklift truck.
• Must maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees both verbally and in written form.  
• Understands the environmental directives of EPC.
• Understands the environmental impact of their division.
