JOB SUMMARY

The Night Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure transitional housing environment. The Day / Night Monitor is responsible for monitoring the safety and security of the facility. Observes and monitors clients to provide a safe living environment for the clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor residents during the overnight hours.
• Maintain program structure and adherence to rules and procedures.
• Document regular checks on clients and any emergency/crisis situations in program log.
• Provide basic direction to clients who experience emotional crisis during the shift.
• Communicate effectively with other staff in order to provide consistent communication for each client.
• Keep workplace neat, uncluttered and presentable.
• Maintain facility security and participate in security procedures.
• Support housing specialist by reporting any incidents or issues that may have occurred after hours

• Facilitate the flow of daily scheduled activities including meals, recreational activities, etc.

• Provide support to residential clients when program manager or housing specialist are unavailable.
• Always interact with residents in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
• Provide administrative support as needed.
• Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies & procedures including HIPAA standards. Maintain security procedures for the facility including observation

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., General Equivalency Diploma-GED)
• Ability to react appropriately to emergency situations and seek supervision when needed
• Ability to clearly communicate with residents, staff and emergency personnel
• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.

• CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required.

• Available during overnight hours and weekends
• Experience with and proficient at using good interactive skills with others.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software
• Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and solve problems in a timely manner.
• Must be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, with employees, management, and co-workers
• Highly organized, thorough, and able to self-monitor work for quality
• Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, timely respond to management, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
