JOB SUMMARYThe Night Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure transitional housing environment. The Day / Night Monitor is responsible for monitoring the safety and security of the facility. Observes and monitors clients to provide a safe living environment for the clients.

- Monitor residents during the overnight hours.
- Maintain program structure and adherence to rules and procedures.
- Document regular checks on clients and any emergency/crisis situations in program log.
- Provide basic direction to clients who experience emotional crisis during the shift.
- Communicate effectively with other staff in order to provide consistent communication for each client.
- Keep workplace neat, uncluttered and presentable.
- Maintain facility security and participate in security procedures.
- Support housing specialist by reporting any incidents or issues that may have occurred after hours
- Facilitate the flow of daily scheduled activities including meals, recreational activities, etc.
- Provide support to residential clients when program manager or housing specialist are unavailable.
- Always interact with residents in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies & procedures including HIPAA standards. Maintain security procedures for the facility including observation
- High school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., General Equivalency Diploma-GED)
- Ability to react appropriately to emergency situations and seek supervision when needed
- Ability to clearly communicate with residents, staff and emergency personnel
- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required.
- Available during overnight hours and weekends
- Experience with and proficient at using good interactive skills with others.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software
- Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and solve problems in a timely manner.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, with employees, management, and co-workers
- Highly organized, thorough, and able to self-monitor work for quality
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, timely respond to management, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
