Packaging Mechanic
Maintenance Department
Night Shift & 3rd Shift
The Packaging Mechanic position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance on all machinery in the plant.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Must be familiar with Computer based Maintenance Management Systems.
- Mechanic is required to supply their own hand tools and a lockable tool box.
Skills and Specifications
- Some computer skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with various levels of professionals in the organization.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to guide, teach and communicate with others.
- Good mechanical skills.

Packaging Mechanic is supported and backed up by other Packaging Mechanics or by the Maintenance Supervisor. Suitable training is required of this individual.
Packaging Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
