Job Title: Children's Ministry Director

Department: New Life East

Reports to: Associate Lead Pastor, NLE

Status: Full-Time | Hourly

New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.

Job Summary

To serve New Life Church by cultivate rich environments of encounter and formation into Christlikeness for the

New Life East Kids Ministry.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sundays:

  • Report directly to NLE Associate Lead Pastor and other relevant NLE staff
  • Work with New Life Family Ministries to implement the curriculum for classrooms
  • Creates and curates a children's worship experience for Sundays
  • Manage coordinators and oversee their roles and responsibilities
  • Oversee children's ministry set-up and tear-down
  • Assist Check-in Station with new families
  • Cultivate a safe and caring environment
  • Operate as Point Person for all classroom needs
  • Implement policy and procedure and standard classroom procedure
  • Takes care of safety procedures, bathroom breaks, injuries, and other behavioral issues

Weekly:

  • Attend NLE staff meetings
  • Attend NLN family ministries meetings as needed (not required)
  • Process volunteers through CCB
  • Maintains and communicates the volunteer schedule on Planning Center
  • Connects with new team members via interview process
  • Oversee apprenticing opportunities in the classroom
  • Oversee and facilitate set-up and tear-down
  • Oversee classroom activities and curriculum needs for all classrooms, including ordering curriculum
  • Provide care for volunteers in coordination with NLE pastors and other staff members
  • Provide care for NLE families as needed
  • Provides additional resources for families as needed

Other:

  • Coordinate Children's ministry/care for NLE Rooted discipleship experience
  • Help coordinate special events and parties to celebrate volunteers
  • Recruit volunteers
  • Train and equip volunteers
  • Attend all required team meetings
  • Be on time for designated shift
  • Demonstrate ongoing financial support of the ministries of New Life Church
  • Cooperate with NLE pastoral staff by performing any other duties as assigned
  • Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
  • Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
  • Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
  • Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of New Life Church.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
  • Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: 3-4 years of related experience

Be an active, participating member of New Life East; maintaining a lifestyle of prayer and personal growth in Christ.

Working Conditions and Requirements of Office Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
