Job Summary
To serve the Church by overseeing the creative aspects of New Life Church and its ministries, ensuring all creative assets meet established standards of excellence and brand uniformity.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide creative support to filmmakers and oversight to a team of graphic designers.
  • Meet regularly with the Executive Director to report on project progress, providing status updates, information on upcoming projects, and presenting forward-thinking initiatives.
  • Provide EBIs to the Executive Director before, during, and after ministry and church-wide campaigns and events.
  • Generate clear ideas and concepts and collaborate with the Creative & Communication teams to build the visual creative representation of each major holiday, sermon series, event, etc.
  • Manage, and delegate responsibilities to other team members and provide clear direction.
  • Provide concepts, guidelines, and strategies in various creative projects.
  • Take work from concept to final execution within deadlines, ensuring high excellence in execution across creative, communication, and production.
  • Produce sketches, storyboards, and art layouts based on creative visions and ideas.
  • Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning, and target audience and help teach other teams at New Life Church how to implement those strategies along with the the why behind the strategy.
  • Attend discovery meetings and collaborate with other ministries and teams within New Life Church for new projects, alongside other Creative & Communication team members, and communicate action items to the team as needed.
  • Lead brainstorming/creative sessions to generate ideas.
  • Assist the Project and Event Manager in keeping the creative process moving forward to ensure deadlines are met, creative assets are delivered, and projects are carried out to completion.
  • Assist the Project and Event Manager with the design of building aesthetics for New Life North special events (this may include conceptualizing, designing, implementing environmental designs) alongside creative team.
  • Revise content and presentations, approve/reject ideas (in collaboration with other team leads) and provide feedback to team.
  • Develop the aesthetic concepts of New Life Church websites including illustrations, styles, fonts, and page layout.
  • Implement web design parameters, style guides, and visual standards for websites.
  • Train and guide team members so that they may grow in their craft, creativity, and career.
  • Stay on top of trends and best practices .
  • Assist the Executive Director in maintaining a commitment to creative, spiritual, and physical health of the team.
  • Cooperate with the Executive Director by performing other duties when asked to do so.
  • Contribute to department meetings through brainstorming, collaboration, and support of other projects and initiatives.
  • Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
  • Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
  • Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
  • Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of New Life Church.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
  • Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Highly motivated, self-starting people person possessing confident leadership skills.
  • Flexible and cooperative team player always.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply considerable initiative and independent judgment with the majority of responsibilities.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with a variety of software applications and databases, such as: the MS Office suite of applications -- Word, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel, and a working knowledge of website management. Must have familiarity, experience and ability to navigate and produce documents within the above-mentioned software applications as well as strong Internet researching skills.
  • Understanding of project management software like Monday, Flow, Basecamp, etc.
  • Understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and office skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to extract data and draw conclusions.
  • Personable and helpful attitude.
  • Ability to handle constantly changing priorities and demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure with time constraints and ability to multi-task and assess the priority of the moment.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Communications, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years creative/marketing and graphic design experience. Demonstrated high-level skill and experience creating unique and original designs. Expert knowledge of design programs like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and an understanding of film programs like Premier, DaVinci Resolve, etc.

Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
