Position Overview:

The Orientation Specialist will provide a detailed demonstration of home features and operating practices to each New Home buyer. Presenting a descriptive explanation of the warranty process and emphasize homeowner maintenance requirements.

It is imperative that the Orientation Specialist maintain a mindset of continual improvement and work diligently to foster a culture of continual improvement within the team, department, and company.

Job Duties:

  • Arrive prior to the scheduled appointment to ensure that home is open and prepared to conduct the orientation with Customer.
  • Demonstrate home features and operating practices, giving a descriptive explanation of warranty procedures, emphasizing homeowner maintenance requirements.
  • Complete orientation using standard outline in the allotted 2-hour time frame.
  • Have in-hand a copy of the Customer’s most recent option sections and color sheets.
  • Conduct ‘post-walk’ with customer ensuring all items from Orientation walk are completed to the customers’ satisfaction.
  • Manage the time slots that are available for orientations, communicating with home buyers, closing coordinator, and sales reps for proper scheduling of orientations.
  • Communicate to the Superintendent, Project Manager, Director of Construction and/or Customer Care Manager items requiring attention post-orientation.
  • Re-check homes to ensure all items have been addressed immediately upon notification from Superintendent of item completion.
  • Submit all forms and reports in a complete, accurate, and timely basis including frequency report of items most commonly found.
  • Support the quality control system by assessing the quality of homes and report findings to the Customer Care Manager.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Customer Care Manager.
  • Ensure you present yourself in a professional manner, while maintaining an insightful and enthusiastic team focused environment.
  • Maintain positive communication channels to help the flow of information from department to department.
  • Participate in training when needed. This includes learning product knowledge, procedural proficiencies, and computer software.
  • Adhere to departmental operating guidelines and View Homes’ Employee Manual.
  • Foster, encourage, and reward a fun, positive, successful values-based culture.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum three years hands-on experience in customer management.

EDUCATION: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

ABILITIES:Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and, computer, word processing and spreadsheet competence required.

EEO/OSHA/ADA: Able to manipulate and use CRT/screens, keyboards, mouse/pointing devices, etc., associated with contemporary computers. Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Able to navigate two flights of stairs without harm. Able to lift up to 50 pounds unaided. Able and willing to travel locally, if needed. Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
