Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Junior Quality Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in our Pittsburgh, PA office.

 
PDG helps clients reach their business goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. Summary
The Quality Support Specialist is response for internal quality and governance reviews, guidance, and reporting.  The Quality Support Specialist will use a risk-based approach to assures Hatch procedures, client requirements, and best practices are applied to the project, and as appropriate, recommends changes.  Additional tasks also include data analysis of quality findings, non-conformance and action item management, root cause analysis, and communication to senior management all to support Hatch's continual improvement process.

 

As a successful candidate, you will do the following
Safety

  • A strong personal commitment to safety
  • Personal responsibility for safety incident reporting
  • Behavioral-based safety ethos to be embraced
  • Personal responsibility for stopping any unsafe behavior as and when it occurs, and thereafter reporting the safety incident so that corrective action may be obtained
  • Familiarization with Hatch safety processes, protocols and procedures.

 

Quality

  • Provide oversight of engineering, pursuit, and delivery activities
  • Schedule assessments by meeting with the discipline leads and assigning tasks for individuals and following up as required
  • Update monthly quality inputs to the quality steering committee meetings as required
  • Organize monthly training sessions for individuals assigned assessments
  • Answer questions and provide assistance on the assessment checklist
  • Upload audits/assessments and other quality information in the quality software and follow-up on missing information
  • Assign actions and follow-up with team members on outstanding actions
  • Develop project templates
  • Organize meetings and produce meeting minutes
  • Conduct and communicate progressive learnings
  • Facilitate root cause analysis discussions
  • Update presentations and training material for continual improvement 
  • Collect digital signatures and file electronic documents
  • Communicate with project leadership and senior leadership

 

 

 

You bring to the role:
Requirements:

  • A recent or soon to be graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Project Management or relevant discipline (or appropriate project related experience)
  • Interpersonal and good communication skills
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exposure to a multidiscipline project environment

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of EPCM principals, and the ability to interpret and verify Incentive agreements
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other industrial quality standards
  • Experience with electronic document management tools

  • Verbal and written communications including report writing and presentation
