Job description

Position Overview:

Gecko Enterprise is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing residential and commercial plumbing systems; must have proven experience with, soils, top-out, and trim.

Responsibilities:

Soils: Initial groundwork for the plumbing system. This includes installing the rough plumbing components beneath the building, such as underground sewer lines and drainage pipes, ensuring proper alignment and slope for effective waste removal (below house slab).

Top-Out/Rough In: Involves the installation of plumbing components above the ground. Connect water supply lines, vents, and waste above ground and throughout the house after framing

Trim: Final fixture installation, focusing on ensuring proper functionality, appearance, and addressing any remaining issues.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and company policies at all times. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and promote a safe working environment for yourself and team members.

Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Maintain and inspect plumbing tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. Report any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including completed jobs, materials used, hours worked, and any required inspections or permits. Provide timely reports to supervisors or project managers as required.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other team members, such as construction crews and supervisors, to coordinate work activities and ensure smooth project progression. Communicate effectively to convey information, receive instructions, and address concerns.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in plumbing techniques, and relevant codes and regulations. Attend training programs and seek professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Blueprint and Plan Interpretation (Preferred): Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to understand the layout and configuration of utility systems. Follow specifications and ensure accurate implementation.

Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Plumber - Not as a service plumber

- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple plumbing system applications: waste and vent, domestic water, natural gas, fixtures and pumps.

- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple plumbing material applications: ABS, Copper pipe, PVC, Poly, and metal pipe applications.

- Ability to assemble, install and start up various plumbing fixtures, equipment and components.

- Familiarity with relevant regulations and codes, such as plumbing codes and local requirements

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and construction plans

- Ability to set up and perform plumbing tests

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing system issues effectively

- Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds

- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces

- Physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions

- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of an apprenticeship program in plumbing or a related field is preferred

- Proven experience as a residential and commercial plumber; experience in soils, top-out, and trim plumbing

- Thorough knowledge of plumbing principles, techniques, and materials
