Job Summary:

The Neuro IR Technologist plays a crucial role in the Neuro Interventional Radiology team, supporting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. This position involves operating and maintaining specialized equipment, assisting during procedures, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.

Responsibilities:

Pre-Procedure Preparation:

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to prepare patients for Neuro IR procedures.
Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order.

Operational Duties:

Operate and monitor neuroimaging equipment, such as fluoroscopy, angiography, and other specialized imaging modalities.
Assist physicians during procedures by providing real-time imaging guidance.
Administer contrast agents as required for imaging procedures.

Patient Care:

Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the entire procedure.
Monitor patients for any adverse reactions to contrast agents and report findings to the medical team.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, patient information, and any complications.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and departmental documentation requirements.

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on imaging equipment and troubleshoot technical issues.
Coordinate with the biomedical engineering department for more complex equipment repairs.

Radiation Safety:

Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and oneself.
Educate patients and other healthcare providers on radiation safety measures.

Quality Assurance:

Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Stay updated on advancements in Neuro IR technology and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Allied Health, or related field.
• Certification in Interventional Radiography or Neuro IR Technology.
• Relevant experience in a Neuro IR or Interventional Radiology setting.
• Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
