Form of workFOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a NETWORK TECHNICIAN II-ENT to manage moderately complex tasks typically relating to network monitoring, operations, installation and/or maintenance. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation and maintenance of cisco VoIP phone and cisco gateway.
- Installation and maintenance of network switches, wireless access point, and data connection for end user's devices
- Installation and maintenance of fiber network.
- Installation and maintenance of APC UPS Backup Battery devices and management interface.
- Installation and maintenance of UAB help phone.
- Perform other duties as assigned
(Annual Salary: $45,395 - $73,770)
High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cisco phones and Cisco gateways.
- Experience with Ruckus/brocade switches
- Experience with user administration of Service Now, Mysoft, and Akips, Crane network management system.
- Experience with network test and certification tools such as Fluke, fiber testing devices.
- Experience with Telcomm testing tools such as Telephone test set and toners.
