The layers are: Layer 1—Physical; Layer 2—Data Link; Layer 3—Network; Layer 4—Transport; Layer 5—Session; Layer 6—Presentation; Layer 7—Application.)Nice to Have: Cisco ISE experience*Description:*Job DescriptionThe Network Security Engineer’s role is to ensure the security, stability, and integrity of all internal and external firewalls. This is achieved by planning, designing, developing, and managing firewall rules that comply with company security requirements and risk acceptance.

In addition, the Network Security Engineer participates in the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance, refresh, support, and optimization of all network firewall hardware and software.• Provides firewall management including design, installation, monitoring, administration, and maintenance in a complex networking environment• Responds to the evolving threat landscape with appropriate firewall policy and configuration• Assesses firewall requests using critical thinking and security mindfulness for potential issues and advise on required changes.• Breaks down problems and determines root cause.• Investigates operational and security event driven network anomalies.• Evaluates and configures email and text alerts generated from firewalls for configuration or performance issues, and other supported devices.• Advises other security and network engineers as necessary• Leads architecture designs for Network Security systems, including client VPN and firewalls.• Maintains network flow monitoring system.• Consults with network engineering to incorporate netflows where possible.• Adheres to team and department processes and procedures for change control and trouble ticket resolution*Skills:*Firewall, Paloalto, Network security, Information security, Network engineering, Cisco routers, Vpn*Top Skills Details:*Firewall,Paloalto,Network security,Information security,Network engineering,Cisco routers*Additional Skills & Qualifications:*Nice to haves:- experience integrating Palo Alto to Cisco- installing firewalls into data centers.Additional Skills & Qualifications• Maintains and organizes documentation at a SME level.• Models strong adaptability, and the ability to become an “expert” in an application or issue in a short amount of time.• Maintains a broad knowledge the latest security and firewall best practices and trends.• Engages in continuous learning for potential growth to higher positions.• Attends interdepartmental meetings and serve as team representative.• Participates in team on call rotation as required.• Serves as third-level support to others in problem resolution.The team has 12 people on it, it has a very collaborative environment.
