Position Summary

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic team supporting:

• Networking security infrastructure, including intrusion prevention systems, network access control systems, network detection & response systems, web application firewall and BotNet defense systems.
• The Network security team is responsible for deploying and administering Network Security appliances, monitoring the health of those appliances, and performing in an incident response and incident management capacity, if needed.
• Our Network security crew support multiple stakeholders, including security operations center, network engineering, firewall operations, change management, problem management teams and executive leadership.
• The Infrastructure Network Security team researches and identifies new technologies to improve system/data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. We lead and assist in security technology and product assessments, evaluations, and product selection, in addition to performing proof of concept for new Network Security products. Our subject matter experts conduct requirement gathering and lead design sessions for new Network Security controls and network designs. Our SMEs perform technical and peer overview for other team members and security operations center analysts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Analyzing/authorizing security and firewall rule requests
• Partnering, identifying, and remediating with stakeholders to close security control gaps
• Analyzing/examining Network Security devices logs (firewall, IDS/IPS and proxy logs)
• Able to document architecture and Network Security data flow diagrams.
• researching and identifying new technologies to improve system/data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• leading and assisting in technology and product assessments and evaluations,
• assisting in proof of concept and proof of value for new security products,

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with a comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, Telnet, IMAP, MTP, HHTP, SSH, BGP, OSPF, RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, FTP, ARP NTP, IGMP, ICMP, TLS.
• 3+ years experience with successfully troubleshooting network connectivity issues/outages.
• 3+ years experience with a comprehensive understanding of routing and switching fundamentals. Proficiency in log analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands on with Zero Trust Network Access framework implementation
• Network Detection and Response as well as Intrusion Detection and prevention experience.
• Familiar with at least (5) Network Security tools such as: Zscaler, CrowdStrike, Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto Stealthwatch, Netbrain, Solarwinds.
• Network & security vendor certifications is big plus.
• Well versed in executive reporting tools such as PowerBi, Tableau, Splunk and Google Chronicle
• Previous experience with CI/CD Github AWS, Azure and GCP is a big plus. Excellent problem-solving skills; capable to troubleshoot with Wireshark/Tcpdump
• Automation experience with few of the following: Python, Ansible, Git, PowerShell, Shell Scripting
• In-depth knowledge of Application security: Web Application Firewall, API security and Bot Defense
• Ability to manage projects, effectively, including planning, execution, and documentation.
• Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, Hi-Trust
• Be independent and self-driven.
• Exceptional documentation and communication skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or Information security

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
