Network Operations Center Engineer (Noc)

We are seeking an experienced Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our growing Managed Services team. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our customers' network infrastructure. You will collaborate with our internal teams to ensure that our customers' network infrastructure is reliable, secure, and efficient.

Some responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Support our customers by solving Tier II escalated service tickets
• Maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN and wireless networks
• Research and troubleshoot alerts generated from our monitoring systems
• Perform proactive scans and troubleshoot vulnerability alerts
• Assist on installing RMM agents on devices
• Work with third party vendors
• Deploy and troubleshoot OS patches issues on servers and workstations
• Schedule after hours work
• Implement timely solutions to customer issues or escalate internally as appropriate
• Data center tasks including system upgrades, migrations, break fix, etc.
• Conduct routine network hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established policies and configuration guidelines
• Configure and maintain network hardware
• Participates in an on-call rotation schedule with team members
• All other duties, as assigned

Skills:

• Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), networks and systems such as HP and Dell
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365
• Experience with LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies
• Proficiency in network protocols
• Experience with network security technologies
• Experience working with diverse environments
• Demonstrated positive and professional interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, detail-oriented and time management skills
• Consistently maintains a high level of attention to detail
• Works independently and collaboratively to resolve problems
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality, professionalism and a courteous demeanor
• Solid understanding of technology including operating systems, networking, storage, anti-virus and backup

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field, preferred
• 5+ years of Network Operations experience within a Managed Services Provider environment
• Prior experience working with Fortinet
• Technical certifications a plus or willingness to obtain certifications, preferably from the following vendors: Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, Extreme, EMC
