Position Description:

Network Hyper-Deployment Squad Lead

We are currently searching for a experienced manager to assume the role of Network Hyper-Deployment Squad Lead within our team. As an integral part of the Network Orchestration Services Product Line, the selected candidate will join a team of highly skilled network infrastructure engineers. Collaboration with other Product teams in Network and Collaboration Services will be a key aspect of this role, ensuring seamless alignment with product strategies.

The candidate will shoulder the primary responsibility of overseeing the end-to-end delivery of network deployment projects and initiatives, with a specific focus on enterprise network edge, perimeter, and cloud networking solutions. We seek an individual with comprehensive knowledge in these technologies and a proven track record of collaborating with product and cross-functional teams in global deployments. The candidate's expertise is critical to ensuring the timely and successful deployment of our network infrastructure.

In the role of leader, the candidate will take ownership of assigned initiatives throughout their lifecycle. This involves coordinating tasks, removing obstacles, and ensuring the team remains on track to meet objectives. Effective engagement and communication with all levels of management will be essential in fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Functional Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Network Hyper-Deployment Squad Lead is to

  • Lead various complex network deployments (from site to global), onboard devices, and collaborate with Business Technology Partners and other Products teams to deliver solutions and resolve standard configuration deviations

  • Partner with all Network Services Product teams for solution delivery, efficient introduction of new technologies into an environment, and support for business-led initiatives

  • Foster DevOps principles to achieve velocity, better quality, and predictability in networking through automation

  • Continuously identify improvements and opportunities (process efficiency, automation) to adopt best practices and streamline system management, eliminating manual work

  • Establish visible deployment outcomes using dashboard, KPIs, and other deployment measurements

  • Act as a thought leader, innovator, and agent of change to influence and inspire, drive implementation strategies, and proactively share knowledge with team members

Personnel Management:

  • Take an active role in the recruitment process, working with HR and the team to define job requirements, screen candidates, and conduct interviews. Ensure diversity and inclusion are considered in hiring decisions

  • Manage global team located in 4 technology centres around the world

  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. Recognize and reward high performers and support those who may be struggling.

  • Support employees' career goals by identifying development opportunities, providing training, and facilitating access to resources for professional growth.

  • Act as a coach and mentor to your team members, providing guidance, support, and helping to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 8+ years of relevant IT or network management and services experience

  • Possess over 6 years of experience in continuous network delivery, deployments, or support for large-scale organizations, and additional experience in specific automation use cases would be advantageous

  • Have more than 4 years of leadership experience in a matrix and global environment

  • Proficient in Network Infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wireless, DMZ, Firewalls, Load-Balancing, and shop floor network, with a strong understanding of current trends, lifecycles, and an additional advantage if knowledgeable in Cloud (AWS, Azure) and Data Centre technologies

  • Excellent Leadership Skills and experience in managing geographically distributed teams

  • Experience and working knowledge in different delivery methods (agile, traditional) within large organizations, including proficiency in respective tools like JIRA and Confluence. Experience with SAFe would be an additional advantage.

  • Experience with ITSM, ITIL, ServiceNow

  • Experience with product management techniques such as strategy, total cost of ownership, road mapping

  • Experience aligning the organization and communicating complex technical decisions to executive staff

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$135,500.00 - $213,400.00
