Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our growing DCMS team. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our customers' network infrastructure. You will collaborate with our internal teams to ensure that our customers' network infrastructure is reliable, secure, and efficient. The engineer will be responsible for traveling to customer sites, as requested, in or around the Portland, Maine area.

Some responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN and wireless networks
• Travels to assigned customer sites, as requested, and works remote the remainder of the time
• Support our customers by solving Tier II escalated service tickets
• Research and troubleshoot alerts generated from our monitoring systems
• Perform proactive scans and troubleshoot vulnerability alerts
• Assist on installing RMM agents on devices
• Work with third party vendors
• Deploy and troubleshoot OS patches issues on servers and workstations
• Schedule after hours work
• Implement timely solutions to customer issues or escalate internally as appropriate
• Data center tasks including system upgrades, migrations, break fix, etc.
• Conduct routine network hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established policies and configuration guidelines
• Configure and maintain network hardware
• Participates in an on-call rotation schedule with team members
• All other duties, as assigned

Skills:

• Strong networking experience required; proficiency in network protocols
• Experience with network security technologies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, networks and systems such as HP and Dell
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365
• Experience with LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies
• Experience working with diverse environments
• Positive and professional interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, detail-oriented and time management skills
• Works independently and collaboratively to resolve problems
• Solid understanding of technology including operating systems, networking, storage, anti-virus and backup

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field, preferred
• 4+ years of network experience within a Managed Services Provider environment
• Prior experience working with Fortinet
• At least one industry technical certification required (example: CCNA or NSE4+)
