Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Configure, monitor, operate, maintain, install, administer, troubleshoot and manage infrastructure devices and technologies.
- Performs 24x7 infrastructure operations and hands-on maintenance of remote offices and data centres.
- Participate in documenting, maintaining operations, and maintenance processes and procedures.
- Troubleshoot hardware cabling and components.
- Troubleshooting network load and bandwidth issues.
- Excellent customer service skills and enthusiasm.
- Experience managing multiple projects within the same time schedule.
- Excellent attendance and driving record.
- Rack, stack, cable and label new hardware.
- Extend circuits (fiber; copper; coax) from Demarc drop points to the hardware in question.
- Asset management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Break/Fix of hardware and cabling issues.
- Structured Data/Optic cabling knowledge and design.
- Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization.
- Works on a variety of technical projects of moderate scope with some instruction.
- Uses discretion to prioritize work and evaluate problem-solving approaches.
- Limit errors to prevent impact to client operations, costs, or schedules.
- This position requires general supervision on all work.
- May help lead/coordinate small-medium scope projects.
- Guidance is required around project scopes and methodology.
- Work generally reviewed for accuracy.
- Communicates with contacts both within the department and function on matters that may require some explanation or interpretation.
- May work to influence parties within the department at an operational level regarding policies and best practices.
- May provide guidance and assistance to more junior technical professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2years of prior relevant work experience.
