OverviewEvery team member of the crew is charged with bringing our strategic vision of personalized wireless to life. The IP Services Infrastructure team is responsible for supporting client's networks for Mobility and Managed WAN, its associated infrastructure, and dependent systems. This team plays a critical role in ensuring the health of their Wireless and Business operations. By responding to new operational needs, determining and eliminating the root causes of problems, and working closely with internal teams and external vendors, members of the IP Services Infrastructure Team are vital to ensuring we meet our goal of being the BEST in our industry.
The Network Engineer II-IV designs, configures, and supports network solutions in a Service Provider environment, providing cellular wireless, residential, and business services to a variety of customers. The Network Engineer II-IV provides technical guidance and assistance to Network Engineers and administrators and participates in an on-call rotation. Candidate may be required to travel onsite to any of our multiple offices for 1-2 weeks per quarter for projects, equipment installation, team meetings, etc.

- Travels to key network locations to assist with installations or hands-on troubleshooting as needed.

- Leads network projects to improve services, implement new capabilities, and/or remediate problem areas.
- Serves as technical mentor to other engineers and administrators with engineering and troubleshooting.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams on a variety of corporate projects regarding networking activities.
- Prepares documentation of network activities such as configurations, diagrams, spreadsheets, and tickets.
- Adheres to the change control process by documenting, coordinating, and scheduling network activities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Network Engineer II:
- Baccalaureate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Network certification or equivalent training or practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of Cisco routing and switching hands on experience.
- Applied knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSec, VRRP, HSRP, or SNMP protocols.
- Applied knowledge of Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, Client, Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto or F5 BIG-IP.
- Basic understanding of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, or MPLS routing protocols.
- Experience working with complex networks for medium and large organizations.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Strong analytical skills, coupled with a sense of ownership, urgency and drive.
Network Engineer III:
- Baccalaureate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of common network technologies at OSI Layers 1-4.
- Network certification such as CCNA/JNCIA, CCNP/JNCIP, or equivalent training or practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of Cisco routing and switching hands-on experience.
- Intermediate knowledge in multiple of the following: Cisco IOS, IOS XR, NX-OS, Nexus, Catalyst, ASR, Company, Client, multi-vendor firewall, multi-vendor load balancing, CGNAT/LSNAT, ACLs, VPN, VDC/VPC.
- Intermediate knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and MPLS routing protocols.
- Intermediate network troubleshooting skills, coupled with a sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with complex networks for large organizations.
- Must possess good organizational skills and be able to demonstrate a dynamic sense of responsibility.
- Effective written and oral communications skills.
Network Engineer IV:
- Baccalaureate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of common network technologies at OSI Layers 1-4.
- Network certification such as CCNP/JNCIP, CCIE/JNCIE, or equivalent training or practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of Cisco routing and switching hands-on experience.
- Advanced knowledge in multiple of the following: Cisco IOS, IOS XR, NX-OS, Nexus, Catalyst, ASR, Company, Client, multi-vendor firewall, multi-vendor load balancing, CGNAT/LSNAT, ACLs, VPN, VDC/VPC.
- Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and MPLS routing protocols.
- Advanced network troubleshooting skills, coupled with a sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with complex networks for large organizations.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Familiarity with large-scale NAT technologies from F5 and A10 Networks.
- Professional experience in the Carrier/Service Provider/Telecommunications Industry.
- Knowledge of the following: VOIP, LTE, 3GPP, EPC, Carrier Circuits.
- 1-2 years leading and guiding the efforts of Network Engineers and administrators.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work with various hand tools. Must be able to sit for long periods and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Must be willing to work flexible schedule, which will include nights and weekends.
