Network Engineer

Position Title:

Palo Alto Network Engineer

Engineers at RetroFit are responsible for the development and delivery of our Managed Services offerings. Engineers apply the necessary technical breadth to providing top level technical support services and operational leadership, including problem resolution, and technical change implementation for Managed Services clients.

The Palo Alto Network Engineer must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol devices, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.

The job requires extensive hands-on experience with enterprise class networks coupled with some managerial and project management skills consisting of Palo Alto networking devices.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Manage network infrastructure consisting of Palo Alto Firewalls
• Install and configure firewalls, switches, wireless and other networking devices.
• Conducting network performance and integrity tests; generate reports.
• Assist in developing and implementing network disaster recovery plans.
• Timely resolve escalated network related support issues
• Develop and maintain complete technical documentation.
• Interact with business partners providing Network Engineering support.
• Ability to execute multiple projects, meeting hard deadlines.

Top Qualifications

• Palo Alto hands-on: 5 years (required)
• Minimum 5-year Vast experience managing geo-diverse Palo Alto Firewalls with Panorama
• PCNSE Required (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer)

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable. Other Required Qualifications
• Capable of resolving critical issues in a time sensitive manner, cognizant of requisite service levels and CCNA, CCNP Certification preferred but not required
• Must have strong interpersonal communication and team-based skills
• Must have strong documentation skills
• Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Critical attention to detail and solid creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform intermediate root cause analysis.
• Ability to consistently follow policies and procedures.
