Job Description:
This position requires a skilled Principal Consultant-Networks responsible for Level 1/2 troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of network security tasks. The role involves working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling various network infrastructure elements and escalating complex issues to Level 3 support.
Responsibilities:
- Function as a Network/Security Engineer within a challenging and dynamic environment, providing expertise in network security and DMZ segmentation.
- Utilize and enhance both technical and professional skill sets while working with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking equipment.
- Collaborate with telecommunication and equipment vendors to resolve issues effectively, ensuring timely and efficient problem resolution.
- Troubleshoot network issues, gather relevant information from customers, and escalate to higher tiers if necessary for swift resolution.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technology with a focus on Computers or IT-related stream OR
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in any field with specific coursework in Networking
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:
Required Skills:
- Proficient experience working with various Cisco platforms such as ASRs, Nexus, Catalyst.
- In-depth knowledge of routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP.
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting Layer 2 issues and a comprehensive understanding of STP.
- Hands-on experience configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting firewall platforms like Checkpoint, Juniper, and Fortinet.
- Expertise in troubleshooting dot1x/EAP and handling NAC-related issues.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, adept in troubleshooting application issues using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump.
- Familiarity with McAfee Web Gateways and Infoblox DNS management.
Preferred/Desired Skills:
- Prior experience working with Banking E-commerce network security infrastructure.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and integration across IPC (Incident, Problem & Change Management).
