Description

Summary:  The Information Technology Manager will provide leadership, guidance and support as it relates to meeting business needs throughout the multi-line, healthcare business environment by performing the following duties.  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
•    Fosters cross-functional partnerships charged with assessing, designing, developing, facilitating, implementing and maintaining technical solutions associated with operations, process improvement and change initiatives.
•    Works to facilitate IT project development, priority setting, oversees appropriate system design and ensures compliance.
•    Accepts accountabilities as assigned and engages in continuous improvement activities within the IT department.
•    Plans and develops policies and procedures for carrying out computer operations.
•    Meets with subordinate supervisors to discuss progress of work, resolve problems, and ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.
•    Adjusts hours of work, priorities, and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation, based on workload.
•    Reviews daily logs and reports to detect recurring slowdowns or errors.
•    Consults with software and hardware vendors and other establishment workers to solve problems impeding computer processing.
•    Meets with users to determine quality of service and identify needs.
•    Meets with data processing managers to determine impact of proposed changes in hardware or software on computer operations and service to users.
•    Evaluates new software and hardware to determine usefulness and compatibility with existing software and hardware.
•    Evaluates proposed data processing projects to assess adequacy of existing hardware, and recommends purchase of equipment.
•    Develops budget and monitors expenditures.
•    Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities                               
Directly supervises all Information Technology personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Computer Science or related applicable field and seven to ten plus years of related experience is required, preferably in a large health care provider environment.
Computer and Network Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Contact Management systems; Database software; Design software; Development software; Human Resource systems and Internet software.
Five (5) years experience with Vmware 4.0, Windows Server 2003-2008, Exchange 2007, SAN, Windows XP-7, Group Policies, HP/Cisco Switches, Wireless networks and network back-up experience.
Experience in HER, GE PACS and AVAYA IP Office preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
MCSE, Network + and A+ certifications preferred
Other Skills and Abilities
8 to 10 years management experience
Ability to operate independently as well as collaboratively with other IT and organization leaders
Define, articulate and drive strategic plans/initiatives related to the rapid changing healthcare business needs
Ability to develop scope of work, develop project plan, manage deliverables and multiple customer demands and expectations
Other Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and change management skills
