Position Scope: Writing Windows .NET programs from either written or
Verbal Specifications. Ongoing maintenance of
existing system.
DescriptionAt The Coats Company, a .NET Programmer is responsible for designing and developing software and web pages based on written and/or diagramed specifications. The .NET programmer position will be working under the direction of IT Director, and will be a hybrid role between home office and our LaVergne Manufacturing site. Major Responsibilities & Task:
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments.
Assist developers, analysts, and designers in the conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications.
Research and document User requirements.
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to IT Standards.
Run and monitor software performance on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for continued improvement, and general debugging.
Assist in the development and maintenance of end user documentation and guidelines.
Install software products for end users as required.
Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
Position Requirements
The following skills are required:
College degree in computer science or software engineering, and 5 years equivalent work experience.
Experienced in C#, Visual Studio .NET AND ASP.NET.
Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including HTTP, XML, DHTML, AJAX, CSS, JSON and SSL.
Experienced with MS SQL Server 2005 and up.
Experience with ERP implementation preferred, ERP experience required
Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.
Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
Highly self-motivated and directed.
Keen attention to detail.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
The following skills are desired but not required:
DB2 database and operating systems experience.
Familiarity with the IBM iSeries platform.
Work Conditions
Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
Some travel may be required for off-site software installation and project related work.
