Hybrid, 2 days on-site work per week in Des Moines, Iowa
$40-45/hour DOE
Summary:
- Assist in the development of automation for letters.
- Requires 3+ years of experience in C#, .NET, and SQL.
- Mostly remote position in Des Moines, with the expectation of working two days on-site.
- Contract role until 03/31/2024.
- Single interview process.
- Background in finance or insurance is advantageous.
- As an Application Developer II, you will play a crucial role in developing new system applications, responding to requests, and ensuring code quality and documentation standards are met. You will also perform maintenance on existing applications and stay updated on the latest hardware and development practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new applications as per specifications, including coding, thorough testing, and comprehensive documentation.
- Adhere strictly to company standards for documentation, development techniques, and testing.
- Maintain and update existing programs as required by project tasks.
- Lead or participate in program design, coding, and testing walk-throughs to minimize issues.
- Stay current with system development techniques and languages used within the company.
- Keep stakeholders informed of project/work status.
- Continuously improve technical skills in system application development.
- Offer support to the Information Technology team and other departments as needed.
- Willingly take on additional responsibilities to meet department and company objectives.
- Actively contribute to the company's goals and objectives by fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in C# and the .NET framework.
- Ability to understand and write basic SQL commands.
- Intermediate skills in code versioning tools.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities, including the identification of unusual or non-routine situations.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in research tools and techniques.
- Effective multitasking and time management skills to meet deadlines, even under pressure.
- Demonstrated reliability, dedication, and accountability.
- Organized and self-directed work style.
