RenewGas Transportation Dispatcher Job Description


About the Company

RenewGas Transportation is a rapidly growing trucking company that focuses on supporting the renewable natural gas (RNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) industries.  This work includes transporting RNG and hauling manure as well as providing warehousing, office space, and site support services to its customers.  RenewGas also supplies CNG to large truck fleets and a number of commercial and industrial customers.    

 

RenewGas specializes in establishing and operating dedicated, professional trucking operations wherever they are needed, anywhere in North America.  This has enabled us to expand quickly and why we are now looking to hire Dispatchers for our Bluegrass Logistics Center located in Bardstown, Kentucky.

About the Job

 

RenewGas is interested in hiring Full-Time Dispatchers to man the facility approximately 15 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Dispatchers will be assigned to one of two teams based on their preference, openings, and the needs of the company.  A work week will be approximately 42 hours compressed into 3.5 days.  The shifts will be:

 

White Team

Sunday to Tuesday – 5:00 am to 5:00pm

OR

Sunday to Tuesday - 8:00 am to 8:00pm

Half-day (6 hours) on Wednesday 

 

Green Team

Half-day (6 hours) on Wednesday

Thursday to Saturday - 5:00 am to 5:00pm

OR

Thursday to Saturday - 8:00 am to 8:00pm

 

Dispatchers must work with the current Dispatching team to get trained. The training period may be different than permanent hours. Training will last several weeks. Candidates will be compensated during training.

 

Qualified Candidate Criteria

  • Prior experience dispatching drivers is required
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, and hazmat regulations is required
  • College degree or some college preferred; high school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in office administration is a preferred
  • Previous experience as a commercial driver or owner-operator experience is preferred but not required
  • Prior military service is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Teams, Zoom, and other remote conferencing software preferred 
  • Prior knowledge of ELD and dispatching software (especially Samsara) is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in phone-based Customer Service is required
  • Previous experience in office administration is a “plus.”

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answer incoming customer calls in a polite and professional manner
  • Ensure drivers are complying with all DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Coordinate with Terminal Mangers regarding the delivery schedule or any issues that arise at each site
  • Capture delivery/load information
  • Quickly and efficiently input delivery information
  • Create a multi-day, multi-state delivery schedule and update it as required
  • Independently make decisions to adjust to road, driver, and equipment conditions
  • Contact and dispatch the Driver
  • Provide directions to Drivers when necessary
  • Stay in close contact with Drivers throughout deliveries and troubleshoot any problems that may arise
  • Field customer calls and answer any questions that arise
  • Take verbal Proof of Delivery information from the Drivers and record that information in Samsara
  • Respond to incoming emails to enter in Dispatch loads
  • Assist in office and administrative functions including data entry, invoice processing, filing, etc.
  • Protect organization’s reputation by keeping pricing, promotion, purchase order, and credit-limit information confidential
  • Present self in a clean and professional manner at all times

Job Type:  Full-time.


Expectations for Hours and Travel


  • Travel will be minimal but may include travel to other company offices or job sites, to become more familiar with the company’s operations.  All Travel expenses will be covered by RenewGas.

Salary and Benefits

 

  • $55-65,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Position is a salaried position and compensation will be competitive with industry norms and will reflect the experience level of the candidate
