The role of the Nationwide Transportation Manager is to work with the President and Terminal Management throughout the country to oversee the management of all terminals.
- Prioritize most pressing issues accordingly and adjust priorities as necessary.
- Work directly with Assistant Terminal Manager to cover Terminal Manager responsibilities while they are absent including daily and customer meetings whether for the short or long term.
- Work on-site in place of a Terminal Manager, when necessary, for example for a vacation or long-term absence based on that terminal’s specific needs.
- Complete, verify, and justify any alterations from the norm, weekly payroll/payout reports for all terminals based on information gathered from Terminal Managers.
- Travel to each terminal at least twice per year or on a schedule/rotation/quantity as instructed by the President of the company. Needs fluctuate and emergency situations happen, so the National Transportation Manager has to be flexible and able to travel with little notice on occasion.
- Lead daily meetings with Operations staff as well as individual meetings daily with Terminal Managers to discuss terminal specific issues, individualized training, etc.
- Conduct scheduled employee performance reviews for all Terminal Managers.
- Check daily reports and make sure all terminals and dispatch units are properly noted.

- Review Customer specific trackers/sheets to make sure all units have up to date statuses.
- Coach Terminal Managers and Assistant Terminal Managers on how to complete needed reports.
- Assist Terminals / Dispatch with escalated issues.
- Be Primary Point of Contact for all terminal operational issues.
- Be familiar with all processes including, but not limited to all customer rules and procedures, CLR procedures, report generation and translation.
- Be available and able to coach and assist team members.
- Continuous training and reinforcement of existing training of team members on new or updated processes.
- Provide senior leadership and guidance to department heads and staff.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement effective solutions
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
- Other duties as assigned.
