Position Summary

As the National Branch Director for Offerpad Home Loans (OPHL), you will take on a pivotal leadership role, overseeing and managing all mortgage operational activities. This role will lead and direct the management of mortgage compliance, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and self-regulatory organization rules. This dynamic position will formulate and communicate a strategic vision for mortgage compliance, safeguarding the company from legal and regulatory risks. The National Branch Director will manage a dedicated team of mortgage processors and loan officers, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and direct nationwide operations for OPHL, ensuring the achievement of company quality and turn time standards.
  • Market residential mortgage loan products to real estate agents, prospective homebuyers and/or builder sales representatives.
  • Analyze reports to optimize employee workloads, balancing the needs of the sales force with overall turn time requirements, making informed decisions on loan allocation adjustments.
  • Ensure that all processes, procedures, and employees comply with state and federal mortgage lending regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with laws such as RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, FNMA, FHLMC, etc., and implement measures to address changes in regulatory requirements.
  • Provide directives to the loan processing team on file prioritization, maintaining or exceeding annual expectations for timeliness and quality.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of mortgage operational activities, developing recommendations for improvements in personnel, facilities, products, pricing, policies, and processes.
  • Oversee quality control audits and compliance reports required by regulatory agencies, secondary investors, and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strategize and plan training needs for loan processing teams.
  • Hire, coach, and develop team members, managing their performance to ensure Offerpad values are consistently demonstrated.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all internal/external customers of Offerpad with an excellent service experience.

Scope and Complexity
Interacts with all levels of leadership and employees, often relaying sensitive and/or confidential information.
Physical Demands/Environment Factors

  • Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires significant use of personal computer, phone and general office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
  • May require off-site travel; possible out-of-state travel

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mortgage lending with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Current NMLS MLO license required
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Vast experience with mortgage banking and mortgage brokerage
  • Responsible Individual in multiple states.
  • Multi-State Origination Experience Preferred
  • Familiarity with Encompass LOS
  • Familiarity with a broad menu of lending products including Conventional, FHA, VA and Non-QM products
  • Demonstrates Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • trustworthiness and an unblemished record of ethical behavior and sound decision making.
  • Ability to critically review, summarize, and report findings and recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred
  • Previous real estate experience a plus
