In Arlington, VA, two families bound by friendship and shared values seek an extraordinary, long-term, full-time nanny. This unique nanny share arrangement is a beautiful opportunity to contribute profoundly to the early years of two delightful little girls, who will be 5 and 6 months old in May. Their homes are nestled within a 10-minute drive of each other, offering the convenience of proximity with a weekly rotation to keep the environment refreshing and stimulating for both the children and their chosen caregiver.

Family A: Their parenting philosophy is anchored in love, adaptability, and a structured yet flexible approach that prioritizes their child's evolving needs. Inspired by the Montessori method, they encourage a playful learning environment, minimal screen time, and activities that foster independence and curiosity. Skill development is a daily adventure, ensuring a rich and engaging experience for G5m.
Family B: Their parenting approach is open arms and active engagement, and they've crafted a nurturing space that echoes their hands-on, affectionate ethos. The parents cherish their moments outdoors and the joy of exploring new experiences with their baby, and similarly prioritize minimal screen time and activities that foster independence and curiosity. Their household also includes two gentle cats, adding to the warmth of their home. Note: The family also has a dog, but he resides in a separate area and the nanny will not be expected to interact with or take care of the dog.

The ideal nanny will bring a deep understanding of child development and the creativity to enrich daily routines with educational activities. Expertise in nutritional transitions for infants is vital, alongside a genuine love for engaging with children. The parents seek a nanny whose heart is their guide – responsible, patient, and overflowing with a nurturing spirit. Their energy and enthusiasm for outdoor explorations and creative play match their families' ethos. Culinary and cleaning skills are cherished, and so is high regard and respect for the parenting preferences of the families. Fluent in English with a spotless driving record, their reliability is underpinned by punctuality and a communicative approach. Non-smoker status, complete vaccination (COVID, flu, TDAP), and legal driving capabilities are non-negotiable.
Nanny who provides comprehensive care, from engaging educational play to ensuring the well-being of the girls through meals, baths, and naps, you'll be entrusted with the heart of their homes. Your role includes planning activities that stimulate physical, emotional, and intellectual growth tailored to each child's developmental stage.
The parents provide competitive compensation of $13.20-$16/hr per family, a supportive and engaging work environment, and the opportunity to become an integral part of their family's journey. This position isn't just a job; it's a chance to make lasting impacts and forge deep connections.
Specific Duties: Ensuring the day will be filled with laughter, learning, and love, handling everything from children's meal prep to housekeeping relating to the children. A nanny who can support the child and the household's harmony, including outdoor adventures. Providing nurturing care with extended responsibilities to feeding, reading, and organizing age-appropriate activities. During naps, child-related housekeeping ensures a serene and tidy environment awaits the children upon waking.
Start Date:
May 9, 2024 with an onboarding/trial day beforehand (1-3 days with a minimum of 4-hour blocks)
Hours:
Guaranteed 40 hours and Time/half after 40 hours per week.
Monday- Thursday 8:30A-6:30P
Friday 8:30-5P
Benefits:
- Legal pay through a payroll service
- 100% Covered costs towards pre-approved continued education up to $750: nanny conferences, nanny retreats, and nanny-related courses relevant to the age/stages of the child(ren) in their care.
- PTO (40hrs with 30 days prior notice)
- Sick Leave (20hrs)
- Five or more paid Federal Holidays (i.e., Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, NYE, and New Year's Day (may be based on the caregiver's observed holidays) in addition to 40 hours of paid time off between Christmas and New Year (separate from PTO).
- Overtime (40+ hrs) time and a half
- IRS mileage for preapproved offsite travel during working hours.

Pay: $26.40 - $32.00 per hour
