Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintenance, repair and installation of plant equipment including the training, scheduling, and development of all production maintenance employees.
This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend and actively participates in safety meetings and trainings
  • Always ensure regulatory compliance
  • Supervision of maintenance crew.
  • Create work orders and PMs.
  • Responsible for installing new equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment.
  • Provide a safe work environment for employees.
  • Recognize and takes steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.
  • Cooperate with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
  • Enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Encourage suggestions from employees which will improve production, quality, safety and/or control costs of production.
  • Keep manager informed on operating and/or employee problems which may require their attention or knowledge.
  • Schedule crew overtime.
  • Assist and/or lead mechanics in locating and diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems on all utility equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Associate degree (A.S., A.A.) or two-year technical certificate in Mechanics and Electronics or a related filed and two years of mechanical and electrical maintenance and supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Communication and interpersonal relations as applied to interactions with co-workers, supervisors, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  • Ability to learn computerized maintenance management system.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics, welding, electrical, fabrication, preventative maintenance, plant operations, PLC's, general electrical and government safety regulations.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Customer service capabilities.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to input data into SAP system.
  • Light typing skills.
  • Ability to answer phones and receive pertinent information.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • SAP knowledge is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffs
  • Frequent periods of sitting, walking and repetitive hand movement
  • Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
  • Able to lift up to 74 lbs
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs
  • Manufacturing plant is a large, open floor. Some areas have loud machineries, and some areas are wet.
