Job description

Hybrid Work Environment: 40% in-office and up to 60% work-from-home, if desired.  Must live within commutable distance from our home office. Job Summary: 
Under general supervision, will apply intermediate knowledge of balancing and reconciliation to provide support to the Mutual Fund position reconciliation function. Will independently resolve basic reconciliation issues.  Perform daily follow up on systematic balancing processes to assure completeness and accuracy.  Performs a daily review of aged share items to insure all balancing guidelines and risk controls are being appropriately followed. May participate in defined work or projects of basic scope and complexity.     
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Uses position management reconciliation system to accurately identify and resolve position breaks.
 Identifies transactions between omnibus vendor and/or fund companies and the firm's books and records resulting in position breaks and facilitates proper and timely resolution as needed.
 Reviews basic cash reconciliation issues; analyzes and interprets data and determines appropriate corrective action.
 Contacts internal and external customers as well as funds and depositories to resolve reconciliation issues.
 Processes various basic Reconciliation related reports and utilize tools including reconciliation related databases and third party applications. 
 Provides support for other department associates during absences or high volume.
 Maintains currency in Reconciliation policies and procedures.
 Provides inbox support.
 Travels to the various RJA Operating Centers if deemed necessary for training or in the event of a BCP (Business Continuity Plan) situation.
 Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
 Basic investment concepts, practices, procedures and industry regulations related to Mutual Fund Reconciliation activities.
 Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, averages and balancing sufficient to complete settlement.
 Accounting principles.
 Principles and practices of customer relations and communications.
 Excel, Word, Outlook and other applications as needed.
Skill in:
 Identifying financial events that affect balancing and reconciliation.
 Reconciling and correcting share discrepancies.
 Updating and maintaining information systems.
 Organization and time management sufficient to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, and meet critical deadlines.
Ability to:
 Perform basic levels of research and analysis to solve balancing issues.
 Read, interpret, analyze and apply transaction information. 
 Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with associates, and internal and external customers. 
 Work under pressure on multiple tasks concurrently and meets daily deadlines with frequent work volume fluctuations.
 Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
 High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in the financial services industry.
