90 day probationary period at which with successful completion and meeting certain requirements will be eligible for a Monthly Incentive bonus that currently has the potential to pay up to $2.00 more an hour!!! Starting rate is $15 an hour.

Perfect Pooch is looking for a qualified dog handler with dependability and high energy to assist our staff in the facility’s dog exercise yards and inside the kennel area. This is a well rounded position where you will also have opportunity to work Front Desk as well. Potential candidates Must Love all types/sizes of dogs and also have or have had a dog in the past. You will be required to supervise groups of canines on a regular basis and do it safely and effectively. Other responsibilities will include bathing, maintaining cleanliness in our facility’s kennel and walking dogs throughout the facility . Lifting capability of 40 lbs and being able to be on your feet all day.

This person must LOVE dogs…and, upon successful completion of training, you can even bring YOUR dog to work with you. What a bonus!

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise play yards, Clean Kennels, Bath & Nails, Front Desk Duties (You learn every aspect of the business during first 90 days) with expectation that you can be rotated to all different areas when needed.
• Maintain control of a large group of open play dogs
• Continuously walk the room to reward positive behaviors and re-direct escalated play
• Address behavioral issues immediately without the use of force or physical punishment
• Attend to any dogs with special needs
• Cleaning Duties
• Keep playroom clean of messes at all times
• Daily and weekly cleaning assignments to maintain a clean, safe environment
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and use of chemicals to ensure a safe environment for both people and dogs
• Health and Grooming
• Ability to understand and follow the feeding, medication and allergy lists, without exception, and to ensure that all health standards are met
• Teamwork and Initiatives
• Ability to work with all team members in a respectful and professional manner
• Effectively communicates in both an oral and written fashion.
• Communicates relevant information daily via the activity log
• Maintains a positive attitude at all times
• Owns development as a personal responsibility and uses mistakes or challenges as an opportunity to grow to a higher standard of performance

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Must LOVE dogs!
• Ability to work varied schedules including days, evenings, must be able to work at least on weekend day, and holidays (Open 365 days a year)
• Ability to use standard office equipment such as a computer, phones, copiers, etc.

Physical Job Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to stand, stoop, squat frequently
• Position requires standing and walking throughout shift
• Work environment could be noisy or loud at times'
