Under the direction of the Principal, the Music Teacher will lead the instruction and training of scholars in his or her classroom and/or assigned grade level(s). The Music Teacher will work closely with scholars, parents, and school administration to ensure that academic success and character development are achieved by all scholars in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit a positive Christian rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Lead students in mastering their knowledge in the following area(s): Music, Art, Dance, or other areas of specialty outside of the core content.
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans as part of a long-term Scope & Sequence aligned to the curricular goals of HOPE Christian Schools.
- Employ a variety of creative, differentiated, and research-based instructional strategies.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management that aligns to school-wide values and policies.
- Create a welcoming and safe environment that fits the needs of students.
- Encourage students to set goals and work hard to achieve them.
- Conduct interim assessments, track student progress, and perform regular data analysis.
- Use a variety of formative and summative assessment to adjust instructional plan to meet the needs of students. Communicate student progress to students, parents, and families.
- Maintain accurate and complete records, including but not limited to: attendance, behavior, grades, progress reports, parent communication, text books, etc.
- Professionally participate in all faculty and staff meetings, professional development, and events.
- Continually improve teaching skills by seeking out constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, families, and the community.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Willingness to work towards Wisconsin State Teacher Certification.
- At least 2 years' experience working in an urban setting.
- Possession of a loving, Christ-like attitude toward all children.
- Ability to uphold HOPE's core values and beliefs.
- Extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for content knowledge of specified Enrichment area.
- Ability to establish rapport and motivate students towards goals.
- Evidence of high expectations for all students and relentless work to achieve goals.
- Responsiveness and follow-up with students, families, and faculty.
- Evidence of self-motivation and effectiveness as a team player with colleagues and families.
- Articulate a professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative.
- Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making.
- Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
